What is an Australian Apprenticeship?
Australian Apprenticeships combine paid work and structured training. They lead to a nationally recognised qualification and offer great opportunities for anyone looking to launch their career or change careers.
Group Employment Organisations employ apprentices and trainees and then place them with other host businesses.
Group Employment Organisations are active in just about every industry - from careers in hospitality/tourism, automotive, engineering, construction, business services, retail through to childcare, horticulture, sport and recreation, security, printing and graphic arts.
Why choose Group Employment?
- You can be sure that the training is matched to industry requirements and gives you a national qualification
- Your NGT Coach manages and monitors training in the workplace and with the training provider to make sure you receive relevant training in a safe environment
- Your NGT Coach provides ongoing support to handle any problems that may come up
Being an Australian Apprentice with NGT Tasmania
- NGT Tasmania is the legal employer. The host organisation you are placed with is not your direct employer but a business that has come to NGT Tasmania seeking an Australian Apprentice
- On occasions, you may be rotated or moved to a new host organisation, depending on the availability of work and training needs
- Training is an important part of your Australian Apprenticeship, and is conducted at your host employer’s workplace or off-site with your training provider. Sometimes NGT Tasmania is the training provider as well as the employer
- Once you start work with us, your NGT Coach will monitor your training and employment and provide assistance and support. Your NGT Coach will visit you in your workplace on a regular basis and you can contact them at any time to discuss any aspect of your work or training.
